For example, if I opened a restaurant and had a corporation with the name of ABC Foods, Inc. but I wanted my restaurant to be known as "Houston Steakhouse", then I would need to file for a DBA so that my legal entity name would be able to transact business as and be publicly known as "Houston Steakhouse".
